HARLINGEN ITD Precision announced a 28,500-square-foot expansion of their Harlingen facility with a new investment of $1.6 million. The expansion will result in the creation of five new jobs.

One third of the 28,500-square-foot expansion will house additional manufacturing operations and the remaining space will be used for distribution. The expected completion date for the expansion is April 2012.

Since opening the Harlingen plant in 2001, ITD has added over 62,000 square feet to their original 26,000-square-foot facility. The expansion will bring total employment to over 90.

"Our ability to process most of our customers requirements under one roof and the quality of the workforce in Harlingen have been important to our company's success and our ability to expand," said J. Scott Hays, vice president of operations for ITD.

ITD has been serving the metal stamping needs of manufacturers in industries such as automotive, electronics, construction, electrical, and aircraft since 1946. Services provided include metal stamping, austemper heat treating, electrocoat paint system, insert molding, staking and welding, tool design and build and product design consultation.

"Harlingen is fortunate to have quality manufacturing companies such as ITD Precision providing parts and services to many international industries," according to Ernesto Silva, President of the Harlingen Economic Development Corporation. "ITD is a good corporate citizen and we are pleased about their continued commitment to the growth of Harlingen," Silva concluded.
