The United Way of South Texas congratulates the Edinburg CISD Media Tech students for an outstanding job in the 2010 United Way of South Media Contest. Edinburg CISD was one of many schools that participated in a countywide media competition in the areas of three-minute video, PSA and poster entries.
Susan Smith and her class of 14 students competed in two categories, the three-minute video and the 30-second PSA. The focus of their work was on the United Way’s Annual Back To School “In Style” Shopping Spree held at Target stores. The program provides $150 grants to eligible students in need of school attire and they are selected by counselors at the respective districts.
The Edinburg CISD Media Tech team received first place and a $1,000 grant for the three-minute video and has also received second place and a $300 grant for their 30-second PSA.
Their videos will be shown at various United Way presentations and can be seen at www.unitedwayofsotx.org.
