The Edinburg Chamber of Commerce along with the City of Edinburg and the Edinburg Economic Development Corporation will continue taking donations for the Hurricane Relief until the end of July.

Food, water, furniture, hygienic and medical supplies are in need for the people in Villa de Santiago, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, to recover from the devastation caused by Hurricane Alex.

Donations can be dropped off at the Depot, 602 W. University Drive, and will be picked up by the end of the month. The Depot’s hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.; please make donation drop offs during that time.

“All donated items are being sent directly to Santiago, Nuevo Leon, by a semi-trailer, however donations will be taken to rural areas by helicopter, and large 4x4 trucks to those who have no way of travel. Items are still desperately needed to assist the devastation” noted Guillermo Canedo, director of the Chamber of Commerce in Monterrey, Mexico.
