The 12th Annual BETA Medieval Fair will take place on Tuesday, November 23 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at South Texas Business, Education & Technology Academy (BETA) in Edinburg.
At the BETA Medieval Fair, an area of the school campus transforms into a village-like setting where jesters, kings, wizards, gypsies, knights, maidens and other characters of the era entertain visitors with music, dance, battles and games. Students in elaborate costumes mingle among the face painting and food booths, take in theatrical plays and catch glimpses of daring fellow students confronting the guillotine.
Open to the students, family and staff of South Texas Independent School District (STISD), guests can purchase food, drinks and souvenirs at the festival. Proceeds from the Medieval Fair pay for the senior prom and other class-sponsored activities.
BETA, a magnet high school that serves students from Cameron, Hidalgo and Willacy counties, is located just north of the intersection of Sugar Road and Sprague Street in Edinburg. For more information, call (956) 383-1684.
