It’s another beautiful week in the Rio Grande Valley…
Congratulations to Leslye Moseley and Tommy Ashworth on their recent nuptials on The Wild Onion Ranch in Austin, Texas. Leslye (who also has a birthday tomorrow) is the daughter of Mark & Jeanne Moseley of Mission.
Enjoyed a spooky evening welcoming friends, family and trick-or-treaters at our home on Halloween. Pumpkin soup and candy were on the menu and guests included Holly, Brian & Mackenzie Roper; Amy, Michael & Garrett Hoffman, and several others. Stephanie Cassity & Mike Zimmerer dropped in with kiddos Megan, Jake & Mikayla, while neighbor Lincoln Talbert stopped by with Carson & Camryn, who treated us to quite a concert on my piano!
Attended a late afternoon party showcasing McAllen’s Quinta Mazatlan, area restaurants, as well as local entertainment and saw Jennifer Ball, Andrea Rodriguez, Francy Jones, Ernie Arredondo and Brooks Ausborn, just to name a few. Serving up the famous Border Buttermilk were McAllen Greeters: Bill Stocker, Ted Link, Tom Polzin, and Phillip Steffy. Had dinner that night at Republic of the Rio Grande with friends Kristi Collier and Nancy Cantu and bumped into Jerry & Dina Raders.
Congratulations to Chefs Larry & Jessica Delgado of House.Wine., who took top honors at the March of Dimes Top Chef event. Their delicious shrimp and lamb offerings were the fan favorite of the evening (and the recipients of my votes, as well)! Congratulations to the March of Dimes staff and Positive Only Women organization, who helped host such a successful event to benefit the March of Dimes! Seen enjoying the great food and entertainment of the evening were Eva-Jean Dalton, Fred & Terry Kurth and David Carr. Jared and I enjoyed sitting at the Spikes Ford table with Ashley Rush & Eric Curran, Joe & Charity Garzonie, Jana & Blaine Hendrick, and Jimmy Henderson.
Recently had some great German food and beer with several folks, including Ryan Peterson and Jason Broughton at Scheider’s Gasthaus & Beergarden on Ware Road (just north of Dove) in McAllen. It was a great place to enjoy a meal outdoors and take advantage of a cool evening!
Birthday wishes for this week go belatedly to Kelly Heller-Vela, Dusty Davenport, Bev Young, Kelly Longoria, Marilyn Fox and Jill Valencia. Today, Shalimar Madrigal and Debbie Townsend will celebrate, while Mark Talbot and Kate Merrill have birthdays on Friday. Weekend birthday wishes go to Trang Phan and Jeanne Moseley. Happy Birthday, everyone!!
