Wedding best wishes go out to Sasha Schroeder & Mickey Harris, who wed last Saturday, January 2, 2010 — a great way to start the new year!

Can you believe this is 2010? Am I the only one who thinks this year sounds like “FutureWorld?” Hope you have all made your resolutions for the new decade and plan to use designated drivers from now on. Happy New Year to all of you!

Ended 2009 right by taking our grandbaby Thomas and daughter-in-law Kelly to see the beautiful Christmas Tree Forest before it ended the season. Baby enjoyed not only the forest, but also “Science on a Sphere,” the children’s area (go tortoise!), and the stained glass collection. Colored lights go over well with 7-month-olds! Thank you to the International Museum of Art and Science . . .

Speaking of our McAllen museum, saw Dardanella Cardenas, Edie Virkus, Bailey Gurwitz, Elizabeth Perkins, Alice Tavarez, Ann Greenfield, Museum Director Serena Rosencrantz, and Advisory Council President Arthur Hughes when we had our December meeting. I thank Ann Moore for attending with me, and we all thank Arthur for taking good care of us in 2009!

In addition, we thank Curator Maria Elena Macias and Executive Assistant Mary Garza for keeping us up with upcoming exhibits and events. 2010 is looking great for culture in McAllen!

Saw Barbara & Bob Parry with their visiting son Robert Parry, who was home from Houston for the holidays and a christening. Also saw Heather & Michael Fallek with their two cutie pies, Chloe & Jake . . .

Ran into Linda Miller and her daughter Beth Arnold at a holiday for-ladies-only do right before Christmas, though we did sneak in that baby boy . . .

Also saw Patty Fallek, Jane Hereford, her sister Maria Hernandez, Jane Talbot, Murray Moore, Minnie Lanham, Carol Moore, Dr. Martha Tevis, Betty Bloomfield, Mary Nell Baldridge, Sylvia Klein, Lou Thompson, Reba Showers, Elouise Campbell and her daughter-in-law Tracy Campbell . . .

Heard that Shan & Davis Rankin, Marge & Calvin Bentsen, Maxine Guerra, and Serena & Tara Putegnat from Brownsville were also spotted enjoying the season . . .

Saw Sarah Tippit while making a trek north to the H-E-B on Trenton — and I give her kudos for raising three boys!

Call me to see some fabulous Doncaster spring fashions by January 16th — or e-mail me at amyseitz47@yahoo.com. You can also check out the Doncaster website at www.doncaster.com . . ..

A whole flock of folks celebrated birthdays yesterday, including Debbie Brooks, Roland Smith, Pat Townsend, Jan Muir, and Morris Nelson, II . . .

Happy birthday for today to that same Marge Bentsen, Caroline Moore, and Pam Wingate . . .

Happy birthday honorees for tomorrow include Yolanda Barrera and Lee Bourg . . .
