Start your day off with coffee and cookies at the Museum of South Texas History on Saturday, December 11, from 10:00 a.m. through noon and enjoy shopping for unique holiday gifts. During this time, the world-class museum exhibits will be open free of charge. At noon, regular admission fees will resume.

In addition to the wonderful selection of books, children's items, and unique gifts found year-round in the Museum Store, MOSTHistory's ¬°Fandango! Committee is hosting a jewelry show where 25 percent of the sales will be donated to the museum. The featured jewelry is from Silpada. Silpada jewelry is .925 sterling silver and is handcrafted by artisans from around the world. Each piece comes with a lifetime guarantee for any defects due to the manufacturing of the piece. The newest catalogue features 450 different pieces. Local representative Sharon DiSantis will have a variety of pieces on display and will take catalogue orders. Your order should arrive in time for Christmas giving.

Fun for the whole family continues with our "I Used to be a Star" Puppet Show at 2 p.m. And while you are in downtown Edinburg, be sure to check out Market Days on the square.

Remember, FRIENDS of MOSTHistory receive a 10 percent discount on most purchases from the Museum Store.

This discount does not apply to any Silpada purchase. If you are not a current FRIEND of MOSTHistory, you can become one on site. Keep in mind that MOSTHistory FRIENDships make great gifts, too! Fore more information, please call the museum at 383-6911 or visit our website at
