Teacher Jose Morales (left) winces as he gets his head shaved at a cancer awareness rally last week at Memorial Junior High School. Faculty and staff at Memorial held the ceremony last week at the school in support of Relay for Life to be held Friday April 17 at McAllen Memorial Stadium. At the Relay, teams of people camp out at a local high school, park, or fairground and take turns walking or running around a track or path which can last up to 24 hours. Each team is asked to have a representative on the track at all times during the event, which is considered the American Cancer Society’s signature activity. Memorial will have their own team at the Relay. Also pictured is Vernie Desagun.
