Grandparental congratulations are in order for Debbie & Greg Morrow, whose newest grandbaby, Hudson Eli Morrow, was born in Chicago, Illinois, on September 24, 2009. Little Hudson’s parents are Alissa & Jason Morrow, and he joins older brother and sister, Seth & Lilly, in the happy family. To me, three children are just perfect!
Wedding best wishes for last Saturday, December 5, 2009, go out to Kristen Kuzminski & John Freeland . . .
Kudos to C. C. & Mark Wilkins for being the first ones (probably credit goes to C.C., hmmm?) out of the chute with adorable Christmas card photos of their children. Thanks also to Enrique Quiroz for his holiday card and delivery promptness . . .
Saw many of you at the McAllen Country Club’s annual Christmas party, which is always the first Tuesday in December. Saw those grandparents Debbie & Greg Morrow, Sandra & Phil Bleakney, Rhonda & Robert Garza and Rick Hawkins.
Also saw Becky & Ron Kilby, tomorrow’s birthday girl Chris & Wayne Westphal, Bob Hawkins, Carol & R. T. Dixon, and Becky & Rick Guerra. Our thanks to Rick for helping us out with a holiday lodging logistical issue . . .
We had a nice long seated visit with Jim Thompson and Terry & Dr. Jim Miller, our dentist. It’s fun to reminisce about your kids and Christmases past . . .
Saw Junior Leaguer Renee Toombs last week. She was the chair of Dias Festivos Marketplace, and was understandably BUSY — but happy. Just think — this week will probably be her happiest!
Had a visit with Debbie Groves at her DFM booth and saw loads of other folks, such as Sherry Gossett, Olicia Hinojosa, Heather Fallek, Melissa Rayfield, Kirsten Vinson, and Denise Garcia . . .
Thank you to neighbor Marianna Wright, who sold and delivered my tickets to various events. That door-to-door thing is pretty neat! I can only hope that many of you have completed your Christmas shopping. That weather thing last weekend made me wonder how the “snow belt” folks do it! (Oh, they come here for the winters, don’t they?)
Had a pre-Thanksgiving Tuesday evening visit with our veterinarian, Dr. Bruce Gray, and found out that no, our Chihuahua wasn’t having a stroke, but had an ant bite on her paw! That healed paw can be her holiday gift . . .
Next Sunday night, St. John’s Episcopal Church will be having their annual service of lessons and carols at 7 p.m., which will be a lovely musical evening in the true spirit of the season. Thank you to my source, assistant Rector Phil Cunningham . . .
A note to December birthday folks: if you can’t gear your family up for celebrating your special day, choose a day, maybe six months later, and celebrate your “half” birthdays! Just don’t get your feelings hurt and REMIND THEM!
Happy birthday for today to Lee Baucum; and for tomorrow, birthday cheer is wished to Chris Westphal, Sally Hamlin, and Jean Milliken . . .
