To celebrate the 199th anniversary of Mexico’s Independence Day, the Mexican Consulate in McAllen will have a fun filled evening at the McAllen Convention Center on Saturday, Sept. 12.

Pre-celebration activities will begin at 3:30 p.m. Convention Center doors will open at 5 p.m. and there will be music, entertainment, food and handcrafts from the state of Veracruz. They will showcase their history, tradition and talent. The event is free to the public. A special celebration honoring the Mexican national symbols will take place. Grupo Estruendo will perform.

The McAllen Convention Center is located on Expressway 83 and Ware Road.
