Best wishes to Ginna Mares & Rigo Villarreal, who were married last Saturday, September 18, 2010, hopefully not during a rainstorm. (Though I’ve heard that rain during a wedding means good luck!)

Enjoyed the cheerful Junior League sustainers’ meeting co-chaired by sisters Debbie Groves and Marylee Alaniz, with $$ cheerfully collected by Reneé Hinojosa. We had mini-programs with info given by Susannah Garza, Laura Ilgun, Victoria Martinez, and Junior League President Denise Garcia . . .

Also had fun visiting with Connie Fielder Norton, Ann Williams, Ann Moore, Margaret Baltis, Kay Moffitt, and Jolene Vitko at my table . . .

Had a quick “hi” with Julianne Rankin, Irma Garza, Molly Grossman, Linda Cattaruzza Graham, Joanna Crane, Nancy Hawkins, Mary Cozad-Chancey, and Debbie Ingram . . .

Big Junior League news is that this Saturday, September 25th, from 12 — 5 will the fabulous annual Children’s Arts & Literacy Festival, at IMAS. Take your children!

A bunch of us had fun at Pam Havens’ lovely home, hearing Gayle Runnels inspiring program, and savoring the delish lunch prepared by Barbara Parry, Darlene Hart, Sandra Imhoof, Marian Turk, and Jane & Patsy Kittleman. Isn’t it wonderful to be back into this busy year with the start of September?

Speaking of fun, caught up with Betty Winn and what she’s been doing, while sampling some yummy desserts at McAllen Country Club. Saw lots of men there, such as Paul Veale, Calvin Bentsen, Dr. Ken Landrum, John Booth, Raymond Jenkins, Paul Moxley, Tom, Kenny, and Mark Wilkins . . .

Saw Tina Martin, who just finished her year as president of McAllen Country Club, and her husband Robert . . .

Along with Ann & Jerry Greenfield, we enjoyed the pasta at Milano’s, which just celebrated its 50th anniversary of restaurant glory — congratulations to the Milano family!

Fun fact of modern life: you cannot get into your computer because it suddenly, inexplicably no longer recognizes your password. Where do you turn for helpful info — not a phone number, but of course a website! And yes, I did finally speak to a very nice man in Manila who helped me, or you wouldn’t be reading this . . .

Also able to help you with computer problems is Carlos Hinojosa of Office Technology Solutions at 580-3901. And thank you, Carlos, for additional help . . .

Happy birthday wishes for yesterday go out to Christienne Te; and the day before that to Susie Guidry, Susan Dietz, Donna Rains, and Kimberly Hughes . . .

Birthday cheer for today is wished to Elizabeth Lawson, Pam More, and Mary Vance Jones . . .

And celebrating birthdays tomorrow are Lilia Ledesma, Ron Loidl, and Sandy Hansmann . . .
