With the close of early voting on Tuesday, voters now only have one chance left to make their voice heard in upcoming city and school elections -- Election Day, Saturday, May 14.

Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday. You must bring either your Voter Registration Card or Driver's License.

City of McAllen polling places are:

District 1 - Gonzalez Elementary, 201 E. Martin Ave.

District 2 - Lark Community Center, 2601 Lark Ave.

District 3 - Lincoln Middle School, 1601 N. 27th St.

District 4 - Palmview Community Center, 3401 Jordan Ave.

District 5 - McAllen High School, 2021 La Vista Ave.

District 6 - Fields Elementary School, 500 Dallas Ave.

McAllen ISD polling locations are:

Leonelo H. Gonzalez Elementary, 201 E. Martin Ave. (Precincts No. 54, 62, 73, 96, 106, 124, 135, 140);

Lark Community Center, 2601 Lark Ave. (Precincts No. 54, 65, 72, 74, 81, 97, 129);

Abraham Lincoln Middle School, 1601 N. 27th St. (Precincts No. 47, 49, 97);

Palm View Community Center, 3401 Jordan Ave. (Precincts No. 7, 8, 27, 47, 48, 95);

McAllen High School, 2021 La Vista Ave. (Precincts No. 26, 27, 37, 66, 67, 96, 134, 138, 139);

and Victor Fields Elementary, 500 Dallas Ave. (Precincts No. 7, 8, 34, 124, 135, 136).

Candidates in the McAllen School Board Election are: Place 1, Nick Garcia and Debbie Crane Aliseda; Place 2, Renee Hinojosa, Hilda Garza DeShazo and Myrna G. Garcia (i); Place 4, Erica de la Garza and Larry Esparza; Place 5, Allen Watkins and Danny Vela (i).

Candidates for McAllen City Commissioner are: District 4, Aida Ramirez and Claudia E. Rios (who has withdrawn from the race but is still listed on the ballot); District District 5, John Ingram (uncontested); and District 6, Pepe Cabeza de Vaca and Jim Darling.

Candidates for McAllen Public Utility Board of Trustees are: Place B, Tony Aguirre Jr. and Sara Winningham; Place C, Trey Pebley (uncontested); and Place D (unexpired term), Jaime Enriquez and Ernie Williams. The PUB races are citywide, so voters from all districts may vote in these races.
