Mary Stapper born July 23, 1920 in Capoldo, Kansas, died June 30 at the Comfort House in McAllen with her daughters by her side.

Mary was very active in her community for many years with St. Joseph Church, the Altar Society and Junior Service League. But her heart was always happiest being with her family and friends.

Mary and Arthur enjoyed many years at their beach house on South Padre Island. She loved to fish on their pier and teaching her grandchildren how to fish. She also enjoyed hunting in the Rio Grande Valley with Arthur and her parents.

She is survived by her daughters, Virginia Lee (Jim) Lewis and Margaret Jo (Dennis) Jensen of McAllen. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Mary Elizabeth (Stefan) Sumers of Wimberly, Jay (Beth) Lewis of Laguna Vista, Michael Polis of Pharr, Kathleen Meyer of Dallas, Lance (Paula) Lewis, Jennifer Polis, Daphne (Kevin) Cameron all of Austin. Five great-grandsons; Sage, Soaren and Skylar Sumers, Max and Tyler Cameron, and a great granddaughter on the way. A sister, Angie Naccarrato of Donna, nephews Nick, Tim, Matt, Mike and James; nieces Vivian, Dorris and Toni Diane.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband Arthur of 49 years, her parents Mike and Josie Sesso, and one brother Tony Sesso.

Family visitation was held Friday, July 9 at 6 p.m. followed by a rosary service at 7 p.m. at Skinner Silva Funeral Home in Edinburg, A funeral Mass was held Saturday July 10, at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Edinburg.
