Fernando Barraza, 55, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, July 29, in Reynosa, Mexico. He was born on May 8, 1954, in Edinburg to Valentin Barraza and Soccoro Perez.

Fernando is survived by his loving wife, Juana Maria Barraza; sons, Fernando Alberto Barraza, Valentin Barraza, Carlos Enrique Coronado, and Francisco Javier Coronado; daughter, Erica (Juan) Rodriguez; brothers, Joe Barraza, Ricardo Barraza, Eduardo Barraza, Jaime Barraza, and Armando Barraza; sisters, Teresa Cerda, Maria Villalobos; 13 grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Fernando is also preceded in death by his parents and sister; Maria De La Luz Barraza.

He worked at J.P. Ice Cream in Pharr for over 10 years. He liked playing softball, watch football, especially the Dallas Cowboys, but most of all he was a loving husband, a loving father, and grandfather. He will be greatly missed by his family, fiends and all those who knew him.

Family received friends on Thursday, July 30, from 5 to 9 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg, with a rosary prayed at 7 p.m. Visitation continued on Friday, July 31, from 10 to 9 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg, with a rosary prayed at 7 p.m. Christian mass was held at 10 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Edinburg. Christian burial followed at Val-Verde Memorial Gardens in Donna. Funeral services have been entrusted to Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home.
