Yolanda Nora Mora passed away Tuesday, Jan. 6, at the age of 65 years.

She was born in Edinburg in 1943 to Cayetano and Emma G. Treviņo. Originally from Edinburg, Nora made a life in California and moved back to the Valley in 1981.

She is preceded in death by her father, Cayetano Treviņo Sr. and a sister, Loida Hernandez.

Left to cherish her memory; her mother, Emma G. Treviņo; her children,

Belinda Schmid and Luis (Marji) Mora; her sisters, Esther (Rudy) Murillo and Hermila Ortiz; her brothers, Cayetano (Dora) Treviņo Jr. and Abel (Alice) Treviņo; grandchildren, Roland Schmid, Alyssa Schmid, Clarissa Mora, and Luis Martin Mora.

Nora was a true Astros fan, she loved bowling and bowled in leagues for many years, and had a passion for reading. Yoli, as she was known at her job at the Department of Human Services in McAllen, made true friends at work who were supportive during her illness. Special thanks to her long time friend, Melinda Garza, who cared for her.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, Jan. 8, from 3 to 9 p.m. with a

prayer service at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held Friday, Jan. 9, at 10 a.m. in the Chapel of Remembrance in the Gonzalez Family Funeral Home. Burial to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Funeral arrangements and services are being directed by the Gonzalez Family Funeral Home, LLC of Edinburg.
