Rafael Aleman, 63, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, May 26, at McAllen Medical Center in McAllen. He was born on October 24, 1945, in Edinburg to Crisanto Aleman and Elvira Laredo.

He is survived by his son, LeeRoy Aleman; daughter, Elvira (Rodolfo) Orozco; brothers;, Cristobal (Juanita) Aleman, Oliverio (Hilda) Aleman, Octaviano (Arminda) Aleman, and Francisco Garza; sisters, Blanca Aleman and Dominga Aleman; grandchildren, Alejandra Karina Lopez, Rodolfo Israel Orozco, Matthew Almazan Aleman, and Brandon Aleman, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Rafael is preceded in death by his parents.

Rafael served with the United States Army from 1965 - 1967. He also worked with International Paper Company until his retirement in 1989. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all those who knew him.

Family received friends on Thursday, May 28, from 1 to 9 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg, with a rosary prayed at 7 p.m. Christian mass was held on Friday, May 29, at 9:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Edinburg. Christian burial followed at Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery in Mission. Serving as pallbearers were LeeRoy Aleman, Cris Aleman, Cristobal Aleman, Octaviano Aleman, Oliverio Aleman, and Francisco Garza. Military services were under the auspices of American Legion Post No. 101 of Pharr. Funeral services were entrusted to Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.
