Javier Ureste Jr., 59, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, May 3, at his residence in San Juan. He was born on June 23, 1949, in Edinburg to Javier Ureste Sr. and Victoria De La Rosa.

Javier is survived by his father; wife, Joanne Ureste; sons, Javier Ureste III, Gerardo Ureste, Andres Ureste and Jaime Ureste; daughter, Georgina Ureste; seven brothers, nine sisters; grandchildren, Victoria Guerrero and Jozlin Ureste, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Javier is preceded in death by his mother.

Javier was a V.F.W. in Houston but has spent all of his life in

Edinburg. He has also worked for M&J Construction Company since mid 1980. He loved farming, raising cattle, and barbequing with his family.

He will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all those who knew him.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, May 5, from 3:00 - 9:00 p.m. in

the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg, with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00. Christian mass was held on Wednesday, May 6, at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg.

Christian burial followed at the Rio Grande Valley State Veterans
