Lydia G. Garza, 68, entered into eternal rest on Friday, May 8, 2009, at McAllen Nursing Center in McAllen.

Mrs. Garza was born on October 9, 1940 in Edinburg, to Ramon Garza Sr. and Maria De Jesus Garza.

She is survived by her boyfriend, Francisco Moralez; sons, Francisco (Delia) Aleman, Ramon (Michelle) Aleman, Martin (Yvonne) Aleman, and Alberto (Criselda) Aleman; daughters, Elida "Linda" Aleman, Crisella Aleman, and Sylvia Aleman; sisters, Gloria Mares, Olga Perez, and Nora Najar, 33 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Lydia is preceded in death by her parents; daughters, Diana Aleman and Gloria Maria Aleman; and brothers, Ramon Garza Jr. and Jose Angel Garza.

Lydia was a life long resident of Edinburg who will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all those whose lives she touched.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, May 13, from 1:00 - 9:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg, with a prayer service held at 7:00 p.m. Chapel services were held on Thursday, May 14, at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg. Christian burial followed at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg. Funeral services have been entrusted to Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.
