Concepcion “Concha” L. Flores, 92, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, August 27, 2009 at her residence in Edinburg surrounded by her family. She was born December 7, 1916, in Montemorelos, Mexico, to Librado Lozano and Maria de la Luz Suarez.
She is survived by her son; Timoteo (Mary Lou) Flores Jr., daughters; Elena Enedina Flores, Estela (Anastacio, Jr.) Armijo, Elda (Sergio) Navarro, and Elma (Richard) Davila and eleven grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.
Concha is preceded in death by her parents, husband; Timoteo Flores Sr., brothers; Jose Lozano and Jesus Lozano, and sisters; Aurora Robles and Gertrudes Hassette.
She was raised in Sam Fordyce, Tx and married Timoteo Flores in 1946. Concha was an energetic and devoted educator. She was thoughtful and enjoyed quilting, embroidery, and crafts. However; her greatest love was her family. She also owned and operated Flores Grocery in La Joya until 1961. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all those who knew her.
Family received friends at the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home. Christian services were held at the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home. Christian burial followed to Laurel Hill Cemetery in Mission. Having the honor of serving as pallbearers were her grandchildren; Anastacio Armijo III, Cesar Navarro, Rueben Davila, Eryk Munoz, Ishmael Flores, and Raul January. Funeral services have been entrusted to Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home.
