SAN JUAN -- The San Juan Economic Development Corporation (SJEDC) has successfully assisted in the retention and relocation of Honey's Cakes to its Downtown San Juan District at the intersection of Nebraska and Railroad. Honey's Cakes, which provides high quality custom cakes and a variety of pastries opened the new location Tuesday, April 5.
Nancy Cortez, Honey's Cakes owner states, "The new location will increase traffic to our business, and allow easy access for our customers through the new drive thru window." Cortez continues, "We are hoping the new location's high visibility will bring new customers."
Honey's Cakes provides consultation on Tuesdays and Thursdays only from 11:00AM -8:00PM, by appointment only. The business hours are Tuesday - Saturday from 10AM-7PM, except on Wednesdays and Saturdays which are from 10AM - 6PM. Honey's Cakes participates in the SJEDC's Business Retention & Expansion Program (BRE) which is geared for small companies with less than 25 employees. The objectives of the program are to retain and expand existing businesses by maintaining current jobs. In addition, the BRE Program strives to create new jobs and increase sales for each business. Assistance is evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Owners interested may fill out an application at the San Juan EDC office located at 430 N. Standard in San Juan.
