The Rio Grande Valley Concert Band has started its 15th season of making beautiful music for Valley residents.

PHARR – It was November and they were flying through the air. All four of them had their pilot's license and took their flying seriously. Celebrating Dave's new twin engine plane, Pat Schroder, Bev Benfer and their friend, Ray, headed down to Puerto Rico from Iowa.

MISSION – If there is one thing you could say about Edna Moss it is that she is one gutsy broad! That is only said in the highest regard for this women who never let anything slow her down. Starting life as an only child to older parents, Edna was born, raised and still lives in the same little town of Moville, Iowa.

The thing I love about all of you, is that I never quit learning.  Everywhere I go, and everyone I talk to - is a new experience.

DONNA – Victoria Palms recently hosted the first trade show for Activity Directors held by Welcome Home RGV. Their ballroom was abuzz with folk from all over the Valley checking out everything from cruises around Brownsville, dolphin watches, Killer Bee Hockey and pirate ship rides to tasting the food of the Valley, Valley museums to having an early margarita, learning about local hospitals, emergency air helicopters and fitness clubs.

Welcome Home! It's hard to believe it's that time of year again! October is always a challenging month for us at Welcome Home, RGV - as we tie up the loose ends and get ready to trade in our file folders, rate cards and spec sheets for bingo cards, raffle tickets, coupon books, and t-shirts. The summer wasn't all work, we managed to put in some play time with our Converted Texan friends, although definitely not as much as I would have liked!

Winter Texans Henry and Olga returned to their Valley home last November to fine the car they’d left behind over the summer with an out-of-date safety sticker, a flat tire and a couple of brackish brown and red puddles of fluid under the vehicle. What’s more, the darn thing wouldn’t start. Scenarios like these can be avoided when a few small things are done on your car prior to leaving the Valley and heading for your “summer home.”
