Isabelle Julia Hall, 93, passed away at home on August 10, 2011 after a lengthy illness.

"Izzy" was born in Forth Smith, Ark. to Joseph and Mary Schnitzer on July 16, 1918. She grew up in Fort Smith and graduated from the Saint Scolastica Academy. After the end of World War II, she and her aunts (Ann Schnitzer and Helen "Sissy" Schnitzer), worked for the U. S. Government in occupied Japan from 1946 through 1949. During that time, she met and fell in love with Harry H. Hall. She married Harry after her return from Japan on June 15, 1949 in Fort Smith, Ark.

Isabelle was a devoted wife and mother for 62 years. During the 62 years of marriage Isabelle traveled the world as an Army wife, living in the Middle East, (Baghdad, Iraq and Beruit, Lebanon) and throughout the nation.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Lt. Col Harry H. Hall, U.S.A. (ret) and her son Dr. Harry E. Hall of Lubbock, her sisters; Florence Roman of Chicago, Illinois, Ann Ratcliff of Springfield, Mo., and Barbara Schnitzer of Fort Smith, Ark.

Services were conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, August 12, in the St. Elizabeth's Historical Chapel, with Father Malcolm Neyland, officiating. Burial was at 4:00 p.m. in the Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Abilene, Texas under the direction of Rix Funeral Directors.
