Adalberto "Kiko" Martinez, 53, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, Dec. 15, at his residence in La Blanca, Texas. He was born April 23, 1958 in Edinburg to Margarito Martinez, Sr., and Margarita Lopez Martinez. He is preceded in death by his parents.
Kiko is survived by his two sons, Robert John (Brooke) Martinez and Christopher Martinez; daughter, Maria (Darrell) Fryman; brothers, Margarito (Pilar) Martinez, Jr., and Leonel (Maria Elida) Martinez; sisters, Yolanda (Hector) Luna and Gloria (Benjamin) Bernal, two grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
Kiko was an Edinburg High School graduate Class of 1977. He proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1983-1987 and during the Persian War. He loved fishing and classic cars. He will truly be missed by all those who knew him.
The Martinez Family received friends Dec. 18 with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg. Christian Mass was Monday, Dec. 19, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in San Carlos. Christian burial followed at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg. Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers were his nephews. Military services were conducted by VFW Post No. 7473 and American Last Patrol of Elsa. Funeral services have been entrusted to Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.
