EDINBURG – Dr. Mauricio Salinas, Raytheon Mechanical Engineer, spoke to the South Middle School Robotics Club about the importance of Math and Science classes.
Dr. Salinas graduated from Edinburg High School in 1991. He has a Bachelor of Science from the University of Texas - Pan American; a Master of Science from Stanford, and a Ph.D from UT-Arlington, all in Mechanical Engineering. Dr. Salinas served five internships at the NASA Lewis Research Center, performing micro-gravity combustion experiments. He is currently a Principal Engineer at Raytheon's Network Centric Systems. He is responsible for the thermal design of military electronics, including Unmanned Air Vehicles (UAVs), ground combat vehicles, and fighter aircraft.
Dr. Salinas also teaches graduate mechanical engineering courses at Southern Methodist University (SMU). Principal Anthony Garza, Sponsor Frank Badillo, and Sponsor Tony Rodriguez would like to thank Dr. Salinas for sharing his experiences and knowledge with the SMS Robotics Club.
