The second city cross-country meet of the year came off Saturday morning at Harwell, with the North boys running second overall behind 31-5A rival P-SJ-A. The EHS girls placed a step behind Sharyland in running action from the third week of competition.
For the boys, Jeremy Castaneda was the top individual city athlete, running the course in 16:08.56. North’s Joe Acevedo was 13th with teammate Lucas Lozano two places back. EHS vet Omar Trujillo rounded out the locals in the top 20, in the18th slot.
Beckah Rodriguez regained her top form at the EHS Invite with a 4th-place effort (12.07) with fellow Lady ‘Cat Robin Galloso cracking the top 10. Econ had a nice run from Osmara Tenorio, who was 11th overall, and the EHS trio of Audrie Vela, Katia Romero, and Evelyn Aranda earned spots in the first 20.
