EHS continued its run toward a district title Friday with a 13-3 victory over P-SJ-A.

The Lady Bobcats (11-1) had blasted Econ 23-0 Monday as a pair of newcomers combined for a 6-for-6 performance at the plate. Brittany Salinas and Analisa Delgado were perfect at bat, with Salinas driving in five runs in the blowout win in support of Arciba, who spun a 1-hit shutout.

EHS finishes the league schedule this week against P-SJ-A Memorial and Harlingen South, and is looking at a bi-district matchup with Brownsville Hanna, currently running fourth in 32-5A.

Meanwhile, North kept pace and rose to 10-2 in league play with a triumph over Pharr North Friday, following its 17-2 smashing of Harlingen Monday. Victoria Cardenas drove in two runs in the 4-2 effort, as the Lady Coogs have South Tuesday and then close with winless Econ as they seek the second-place position at least. Tuesday’s ball game was vital for the squad, as it faced a rematch with the Lady Hawk team that defeated it 16-6 earlier this season. Both teams were 10-2 with the edge for second on the line.
