Candy Reece Killion, age 62, died Thursday, August 27, 2009, at her residence in Edinburg. Candy was a former resident of Bonham where she lived with her former husband of over 25 years, Bobby Charles Killion. Her fondest memories were of times spent in Tom Bean and Bonham where she enjoyed gatherings with family and friends. In her heart, she knew she was considered the soul mate to her true love.
She was a member of the Edinburg Regional Medical Center Auxiliary, the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary, and member of the Fellowship Baptist Church in Edinburg, and a loving mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter Ira Reece Jr., Anita Thompson Reece and by her sister, Linda Toni Reece.
Candy is survived by two sons, Mitchell Killion (Elizabeth) of Edinburg and Jeffery Dean Killion (Nina) of Oceanside, Calif. She is also survived by six grandchildren: Matthew Killion, Luke Killion and Taylor Killion of Edinburg as well as Casey Killion, Harley Killion and Lyla Killion of Oceanside, Calif. Candy is also survived by two brothers and by two sisters: Walter Ira Reece III of Sattler, Texas; Vicki Ann Johnson of McAllen; Robert Blaine Reece of Laguna Vista and Mary Leonora Deaton of Edinburg. She has five nieces and nephews.
Her body will be cremated. A Memorial Service took place at the Fellowship Baptist Church located at 4811 W. Univeristy Drive in Edinburg. Pastor Ray Potter officiated the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Edinburg Regional Medical Center Auxiliary for student scholarships.
