The South Texas Promotora Association (STPA) will celebrate its 10-year anniversary at its annual conference in April.
The conference is set for April 17 and 18 at the McAllen Chamber of Commerce. The conference will feature training sessions on day one and a health fair on day two.
It has been 10 years since the STPA was founded in April 1999. Community health workers wanted to form a professional association that would help them learn more about their craft and develop communication skills in English. Those were slow beginnings with only a handful of promotoras joining that first year.
Today, the STPA has 128 registered members from six South Texas counties.
For more information on the conference or to register as an exhibitor please contact Norma Gallardo at 381-1021 or email her at email@example.com.
