You’re invited to create eye candy for your avian visitors with Master Gardener Norma Linda Santos-Sanchez on Jan. 9 at Quinta Mazatlan in McAllen. Participants will have an opportunity to create a decorative nesting wreath designed with birds in mind.

Winter is a fun time to feed birds, especially during the holidays when you can enjoy it with the whole family. This season, create a fun project that will entice the feathery critters in your backyard while bringing hours of bird watching pleasure for you and your loved ones.

The program will run from 10 a.m. to noon and will include a leisurely walk through the trails with the master naturalist. Participants will learn about various native trees and shrubs that liven up any outdoor patio, and serve as a dining delight for birds.

Program fee is $5, which includes materials for your take-home wreath. Call 681-3370 to register in advance so staff can prepare accordingly. Materials are only available to those who register in advance. Payment can be paid on the day of the program.

Please call Quinta Mazatlan at 956-681-3370 for more information and to reserve your spot.
