Through thickets and thorns, through brush and bogs, geocaching is the latest Nature adventure. Global Positioning System (GPS) devices allow for a game of technologically inclined hide-and-seek. Using GPS receivers to hunt out treasures, or geocaches, transforms Nature into a playground where science, technology and fun collide.

The Edinburg Scenic Wetlands and World Birding Center will offer families an opportunity to enjoy this activity during our upcoming “Geocaching Family-Fun Day”.

Come and discover the origins of this fascinating game, learn about geocaching’s applications and the role it can play in the everyday, exciting exploration of the world around us.

“Geocaching Family-Fun Day” will be held at the Edinburg Scenic Wetlands and World Birding Center in three subsequent sessions. The first session will begin promptly at 11 a.m., with a duration of approximately two hours. Subsequent sessions will begin at 1:00 pm and at 3 p.m. Each two-hour activity will take place both in and out of doors. Program fees are $5 for member families and $7 for families who have not yet become members. Space is limited, so please reserve your family’s spot for this fun-filled day!
