PHARR – The Pharr Literacy Project & Cultural Arts Center will have open auditions for eight children ranging in ages 10-17 and eight adults of all ages on September 6 & 7 from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at 203 W Park Ave., Pharr.
Auditions will be cold reading from the script, no appointment necessary, just show up and tryout. Performances are planned in Pharr, Hidalgo and McAllen, spanning from Nov. 2011 to Jan. 2012. Pedro Garcia who will also direct the production says, "This historic & folkloric play will be lots of fun with original music, songs and dances as well."
We are looking for a set builder, costume maker and choreographer to work with our production designer, Lisa May. We also need a lighting and sound operator/techs to work with our Light and Sound designer, Eduardo J. Martinez. These are paid positions. Plus we are currently selling affordable ads for the playbill by calling 956-787-6825 or 956-212-0473. The latter helps alleviate the production costs. Tax Deductible donations may also be made to The Pharr Literacy Project to help fund the production by calling Kelly Michal/CEO at 956-783-7746 or 956-648-2036.
The show will also be available for tours to RGV cities by booking in advance. For more information call 956-655-9308
