Laura Hinojosa, Hidalgo County District Clerk, was elected by her colleagues to serve on the Executive Board of the County & District Clerk Association of Texas (CDCAT). The membership, consisting of 443 county and district clerks from all 254 counties in the State, elected Hinojosa to the position of Secretary during the 121st Annual CDCAT State Conference in Corpus Christi last week, June 19-23, 2016.
“I am honored to continue serving my colleagues and the association in this capacity,” said Hinojosa. “I am excited about this opportunity and look forward to working closely with my peers and executing my duties as Secretary to the best of my ability.”
The purpose of the association is to promote professional standards, to provide a means for the education of its members regarding the statutory and constitutional duties of the offices of the County Clerk and the District Clerk, and to participate in the legislative, judicial and executive processes of state government beneficial in the performance of the members' duties.
Laura Hinojosa has served as the Hidalgo County District Clerk since 2007 and was reelected in 2014 to serve a third term in office. She has served the association in several capacities including Region VIII Director/Director-in-Charge (once during her freshman year in office and again in 2015-2016), Legislative Committee Co-chair, District Clerk Manual Committee Co-chair, and was previously nominated for District Clerk of the Year.
A resolution was presented to Hinojosa at the July 6 Hidalgo County Commissioner's Court.
