Local culinary chefs and restauranteurs, as well as professional and amateur RGV cooking teams, will go head-to-head to bring you 'Texas savor, RGV flavor' in competition for champion barbecue titles.
This year's Mission Community BBQ Throwdown will feature live entertainment, ranging in genres that'll leave you dancing through the Texas sunset. You can cool down in the summer heat while sipping on craft and domestic beverages at this year's Beer Garden, presented by The Loretto at Mission.
The event is open to foodies, families, and friends of all ages. Exclusive local handmade craft and artisan vendors will be there, and other local food and beverage merchants, too. The event will also include a play area for children.
Proceeds from the event will benefit Mission CISD and Sharyland ISD students through scholarships who are furthering their education in E-STEAM programs (Entrepreneurship, Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics).
The goal is to enhance lives of our community and youth with programs and partnerships that enrich education, develop leadership, and better our region as a whole.
