UTRGV’s University Productions this fall will present the classical Shakespearean comedy, “A Midsummer Night’s Dream.”

Perhaps one of Shakespeare’s most popular comedies, “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” offers a blend of fantasy, romance and slapstick humor that appeals to a broad range of tastes.

The production runs Nov. 8-11 at 7:30 p.m., with a 2 p.m. matinee on Nov. 12, at the Albert L. Jeffers Theatre in the ELABS Building, located on the corner of University Drive and Sugar Road on the UTRGV Edinburg Campus.

Open dress rehearsal is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 7.

On Sunday, Nov. 12 – 10 minutes after the conclusion of the matinee performance, at approximately 4 p.m. – the audience can join a discussion of the play and themes related to the production, led by director Kent Smither and local scholars. The discussion will be in the Studio Theater (ELABS 107, next door to the Albert L. Jeffers Theater).

Tickets for “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” are $15 for general admission, and $5 for UTRGV students, faculty and staff with a current school ID. No children below third grade will be admitted.
