EDINBURG – “It was 1966 in North Edinburg when a UFO appeared and lit up the night sky as bright as day.”
That is how the story of the 1966 Edinburg UFO sighting starts. The incident inspired the “Out of This World Edinburg UFO Conference & Festival,” now in its seventh year. This year’s festival is April 13 and 14 at the Edinburg City Hall Courtyard and the Edinburg Conference Center at Renaissance.
If you want to hear the whole story of the 1966 UFO sighting, join us for an open-mic night on Friday March 23 at 6 p.m. at the Dustin M. Sekula Memorial Library. There you will not only hear about the 1966 incident, but also stories from two distinguished UFO researchers.
Author Noe Torres, who has been featured on the Travel Channel for his work on UFOs, will be speaking about the 1966 UFO incident in Edinburg. Joining him will be author and paranormal investigator Chris Lee James who has written a number of books about UFOs and ghostly happenings in South Texas. He is a former employee of the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Customs, and the U.S. Border Patrol. He is currently writing a novel entitled, “Saucers.” It is based on the reported crash of a UFO near Laredo in 1948.
Following the guest speakers, those in the audience will have a chance to share some of their stories. So, if you have seen an unidentified flying object, or have heard stories you would like to share with the audience, please join us.
