Restaurant hosts Nov. 6 fundraiser to make $5,000 check presentation to area non-profit

To show his appreciation for the support Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers has received from Caniacs across the Rio Grande Valley, Founder & CEO Todd Graves is coming to town to give back.

In keeping with the company’s philosophy on active community involvement, Graves will present a $5,000 donation to the Valley Alliance of Mentors for Opportunities and Scholarships (VAMOS) – a Valley-wide organization that provides high school graduates scholarship opportunities and actively supports their need to achieve long-term academic success and set positive career goals.

The check presentation will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 6, from 4:30-5:45 p.m. at the Raising Cane’s located at 125 S. Shary Road in Mission. VAMOS and community representatives along with officials from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley’s Athletic Department will be in attendance. Additionally, Sharyland High School’s dance team and mascot, Razz, and Pioneer High School’s cheerleaders, drumline and mariachi bands will be onsite to pump up the crowd during the check presentation.

“We believe education is a central foundation for every community and it’s important to us to support schools and educational organizations in the communities we serve,” Graves said. “We proudly support VAMOS’ dedication to making the dream of a college education a reality for high school seniors throughout the Rio Grande Valley.”

In addition to the check presentation, Raising Cane’s will host a fundraiser on the same day, Nov. 6, from 5-9 p.m. at all six of its Rio Grande Valley restaurants. The company will donate 15% of sales during these hours to VAMOS when customers mention the organization. To find the Raising Cane’s location nearest you, visit
