"Wobble for Warmth" Coat Drive will be held at Bill Schupp Park on Saturday, November 17, 2018, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The inaugural event is designed to gather coats and blankets for the less fortunate all while bringing Leadership McAllen alumni, class members, other leadership organization groups and the community together.

"Since its inception Leadership McAllen's mission has been to help develop future leaders. We strongly believe that a huge part of being a leader is to serve one's community," Leadership McAllen Chair Gaby Jones said. "With Wobble for Warmth, we hope to provide some 'warmth' to our less fortunate community members as we prepare for the winter season."

The event is open to the public, and coat drive participants will be able to "wobble" in a fun-filled potato sack race while simultaneously being able to help out the community of the Rio Grande Valley. Entry fee for the race is a blanket or a gently-used coat. Wobble for Warmth is a joint effort with Tim's Coats (the 30-year- old program will help dispense donations gathered).
