Holiday weekends are intended to be filled with friends, family and cheer. Well, this last one was no exception. What better way to celebrate than while dining with some of your favorite people, on delicious street eats, at the coolest new cozy eatery and beer garden in town. Right? Glad we all agree, dear readers. So, of course, we did just that and found our way over to The Gremlin.

This new beer garden and kitchen, owned and operated by mixed media artist Antonio Reyna, was repurposed from a 100-year old home into a restaurant specializing in international street foods, with a variety of craft beers on draft and wines to complement those bites.

Upon arrival, you'll see parking availability to the rear of the building or alongside the side and front entrance. There is outdoor seating available on patio tables and a sense of home immediately upon entering The Gremlin.

We dove right in and said, “Yes” to the entire menu! We started off with some Gremlin Fries with some sprinkled curry and dipping sauce. Then anxiously moved on to the delectable Stuffed Dates. By no means did we stop there. I mean, really, after the delight our taste buds had just experienced, how could we?!

We progressed to the Poke Bowl (vegetarian option also available), the Choripan (chorizo sausage in a mini bread bun), the addictive Lumpia (Filipino Spring Rolls with dipping sauce and lettuce), a couple of Avotostadas and some

Beer Brats with Mustards (aka Bratwurst!).

All menu items at The Gremlin are inspired by international street foods paired perfectly with their eclectic playlist, and soon to be live performances.

Make your way over to The Gremlin Beer Garden & Kitchen, conveniently located on the corner of 16th and Dallas at 322 S 16th St, McAllen, TX 78501. Choose from The Gremlin's variety of creative menu options, any Tuesday through Saturday evening from 5:00 p.m.-2:00 a.m. This incredible gem is closed from Sunday-Monday.
