Sunset Live, McAllen and the Rio Grande Valley’s favorite outdoor concert series last concert of its 12th season will be held this Saturday, December 8, 2018 at the McAllen Convention Center Oval Park, 700 Convention Center Boulevard, with the free, family-friendly event opening at 5:00 p.m. and continuing until 9:00 p.m.

The last concert of the season will feature a Latin-infused presentation of acoustic guitar, blues and jazz, with a little bit of Havana, Cuba rhythm thrown in to get the crowd dancing, as well.

 

December Concert Line-Up

5 PM – 7 PM: Mujer RGV, featuring Seems Fuentes, a McAllen native artist

7 PM – 8 PM: Ariacne Trullijo, a Cuban-born artist now residing in New York City

8 PM – 9 PM: Oscar Ornelas, a blues and jazz musician from Austin, Texas

 

“Sunset Live is about a lot more than just great live music,” said Yajira J. Flores, director of the series held in both the spring and fall. “This concert series combines stellar music, outdoor activities, variety of food trucks, beverages, and local artisans, creating one of the most popular music gatherings in McAllen and the Rio Grande Valley,” she concluded.

The upcoming Sunset Live 2019 Spring Season dates are: March 9; April 13; and May 11.

The series, which has hosted over 35 concerts since the first season in 2013, is the leader in outdoor live music, with an average of 36,000 annual attendees to date and growing. With about a dozen regional and national bands that range in style from indie to blues playing on one stage, Sunset Live packs plenty of entertainment in one season.
