The South Texas International Film Festival was established by the City of Edinburg to celebrate and support the cinema arts. Each year, hundreds of titles are submitted and compete for the coveted Eddie. Last year, over 50 films representing 12 countries were screened. Filmmakers from around the world shared their knowledge and experiences with festival goers. The festival also celebrated its 2nd annual screenwriting competition The Pitch where the winner received a cash prize for production support.
