McALLEN – Keep McAllen Beautiful (KMB) will host their annual Great American Clean-Up Saturday April 13 across the majority of town.

Volunteers are encouraged to participate and to do so will need to arrive at the Municipal Park by 8 a.m. where they will be issued safety vests, gloves and trash bags. They will then be assigned to a designated area to pick up litter. Once the litter is picked up volunteers will be treated to a free t-shirt, hot dog, soda and a raffle.

This will also be an opportunity for anyone needing community service hours or credit for a class.

“We're asking the public to volunteer and join the effort in this beautification project,” KMB Program Coordinator Chris Lash said.

Everyone is encouraged to participate, including students, business leaders, civic and non-profit organizations, families, religious groups, sororities, fraternities, sports teams and the military.

The event will also be a part of the Don't Mess with Texas Trash-Off, the single largest one-day cleanup event in the state.

To sign up visit or call (956) 681-4562.
