Tuesdays, for the most part, tend to be uneventful. However, add in a few friends, some Taco Tuesday specials with live music and laughter, well, now you’ve got yourself a Tuesday soirée! Such was the case for us last week. It was early in the week and the calendars were booked solid for the upcoming days, we definitely needed a preemptive break to some hard core adulting.
Trisha: Still on for some tacos tonight?
Gaby: Ya mean, “Progresso Tuesdays” at London?
Trisha: Sounds like a plan to me *winking emoji*
Gaby: See you there!
Upon walking into London’s Grill & Tavern, we were greeted by the sounds of upbeat jams streaming from the TouchTunes jukebox. You know how much we LOVE our TouchTunes, so we were definitely off to a fabulous start!
Our group of six did not hesitate to start ordering from the special menu of the day. It wouldn’t be fair not to try as much as possible for the insanely inexpensive prices they were being sold at. Consequently, within minutes, our table for six was filled with dishes of Chicken Nachos, mini corn dogs, Mozzarella sticks, chicharrones, Catfish strips, jumbo potato wedges, beef and pulled pork tacos (choice of soft or crunchy shells), PLUS some Crazy Popcorn (buttery popcorn, topped with sliced pickles a hint of Hot Cheetos and drizzled with melted cheese). Yes, we accepted the food challenge presented to us and enjoyed every last bite of it. At $2.99 per Progresso Tuesday dish, we should have just said “YAAAS” to the entire menu. Other items of “more substance”, like an individual pizza or a hamburger, are just a couple more bucks.
Gaby: Your best bang for your buck, and definitely worth it, is a personal Hawaiian pizza and an order of carnitas tacos. Add the mini corn dogs if you're wanting to share (yeah, right).
Trisha: For the snack loving, specifically salty snack lovers, London’s Crazy Popcorn mix certainly satisfies AND the mozzarella sticks take care of all your cheese craving needs.
If you're thinking, “Wait a minute Gaby and Trisha, this is called Progresso Tuesday” there must be more? You're absolutely correct! Although you're not walking along the streets of our border town passing through dentist offices, pharmacies, taco stands and bars, do expect some Progresso deals on beverages.
Ask for a house Margarita or a Pickle Back if kickstarting your weekend on Tuesday or your just enthusiastic to celebrate Taco Tuesday (excuses for work the next day are not included). If you're more on the mellow side of things, London has domestics and some other beer goodies like 5x5's FUBARR.
