After an arduous and challenging competitive year, the Sharyland Pioneer High School UIL Academics and One Act Play (OAP) students, as well as their coordinators and coaches, were able to reap the benefits and bask in the glory of an ambitious yet enterprising year - making history not only in Sharyland ISD but in the region as well!

The first of many accolades came by way of a sweeping district win with a total of 10 first place individuals and 10 out of 12 top team placements in academics alone. The second place school was a whopping 121 points behind. In addition, the OAP cast and crew brought in numerous accolades that included the following: best actress, multiple all-star cast members, honorable mention, tech awards, and an all-star tech.

Next, advancing teams and individuals went on to compete at the Regional level in San Antonio, dominating for the second year in a row and making Sharyland Pioneer UIL Academics back-to-back Regional Champions In Conference 5A, Region 4 for the 2017-18 and 2018-19 school years. Results ranged from four 1st Place Teams to multiple 2nd and 3rd place teams as well as multiple individual 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places and countless other placements. This is not only an unprecedented accomplishment in Sharyland ISD, but in many districts across the state as well.

Finally, seven individual students and four teams, the largest number in Sharyland Pioneer history, advanced to Austin where the UIL State competition came to a close with the Social Studies Team earning a 2nd place silver medal, Current Events Team earning a 3rd place bronze medal, and individual Calculator Applications individual earning a 3rd place bronze medal.
