Residents to receive updates on vital projects

Commissioner Joaquin “J.J.” Zamora will host a town hall meeting on Thursday, August 8 at Lark Community Center, 2601 Lark Avenue, starting at 6:00 p.m. The meeting will serve as an opportunity for residents to learn more about what is happening in the community and discuss their concerns, as well as give their ideas and input.

Members of the McAllen City Manager’s Office will be in attendance to answer any questions. and will provide updates on current and future projects in District 2 and citywide initiatives. Additionally, City of McAllen staff will present information on the ongoing drainage projects in the district

Topics specific to District 2 include hike & bike trail improvements and park rehabilitation projects; Project Clean Neighborhood and trash, brush and recycling collection; and traffic issues, including speed humps and the Dove Avenue and Bicentennial Boulevard Extension. Finally, McAllen Fire and Police will give updated information on crime statistics and fire safety efforts.
