A Saturday AM “Artisan Film” with the girls, some shared laughs, commentary, buttered popcorn and a couple of chilled pickles later, it’s time for a late, hunger-satisfying lunch composed of juicy hamburger patties topped with your choice of creative toppings, side fries and maybe a hot dog or two. *wink*

Established in 2011, Big Daddy's was founded with the idea of "If you make a great burger at a great price, they will come", and that ideology has proven successful for them. Big Daddy’s dedicated team grinds their own American choice beef daily and hand form their specialty, never frozen, 3/4 lb patties. Proud creators of the taste of home, Mexi-Can Burger (¾ lb patty topped with cheese, ham and avocado), the “hot” Firecracker Burger (¾ lb patty topped with melted cheese and Hot Cheetos) and the “not for the faint of heart” Chori-Queso Burger (¾ lb patty smothered with a blend of Swiss cheese and chorizo, served with all the veggies).

*via table talk*

Trisha: Hmmm the "Lil Daddy" or the "Firecracker"?

Gaby: Don't know 'bout you, but I'm going for the chili cheese dog with grilled onions!

First-time participant: "Lil Daddy" with NO buns, please.

Regular squad member: Ex the beef for my "Lil Daddy" and substitute with chicken breast. DO NOT hold back on the buns.

Just like the requested buns, nothing was held back. Every single dish brought to our table was over flooded with food (and that’s because we picked the smallest portion size available). Another friend who joined us asked for slices of avocado on her patty and it looked like she got 2 whole avocados with her burger. These folks are serious!

Don't forget about the Big Daddy Wings, Chicken Basket, Chopped Beef Brisket sandwich and the old reliable BLT. Also, try Big Daddy’s original house sauce created daily and never from a can. Make sure to take advantage of their lunch specials all week from 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Enjoy specialty items for just $7.99 Monday through Sunday.

Next time you feel like “walking a cow through the garden” (diner lingo), stop on by Big Daddy’s Burgers at 5818 N Cage Blvd, Pharr, TX 78577. Big Daddy’s is open daily, Saturday through Thursday from 10:00 a.m.-9:00 p.m. and Friday from 10:00 a.m.-10:00 p.m. For more information, you can call (956) 702-0151, email them to burgersbigdaddy@yahoo.com or via their social media platforms @bigdaddysburgersrgv.
