January 2020 is almost gone, but our love for food and adventure is going strong! We can think of no better way to relax and indulge, than breaking bread with friends, family and fellow foodies. Well, at least for us, it's yet to fail on bringing about good fun and fine foods.

Trisha: Hola! Brunch with the girls at noon?

Gaby: Just worked up a sweat and my hunger so, YES! I’ll see you in about 30 minutes.

Walking into the new Moonshine Bar & Grill (formerly Copper Moon), we were instantly hit with decorative waves of pop culture, open space concepts and fabulous energy! Their menu was filled with appetizing options like Breakfast Pizza, a Hangover Burger and Butter Cakes, just to name a few. We knew we'd landed in the perfect spot for brunch and were quick to order beverages, and several dishes, for another family style meal. Come on now, table mimosas with a choice of orange, pineapple or a blend of both juices, Breakfast Old-fashioneds and Hazard Punch...you've got to try this place out!

Okay, we got a bit excited there, but back to the "meat and potatoes" of it all. Given that we had to try their version of pancakes, a traditional brunch item, and a little Mexican food, we ordered: Butter Cakes with blueberry sauce, Chilaquiles, Chicken & Waffles and an Osso Bucco Bowl (hash browns topped with Osso Bucco, extra Sharp Cheddar, a fried egg and crema). Yes, ladies and gents, you read correctly, Osso freaking Bucco for brunch! We can’t think of another place around these parts with something quite like this. The greatest part of it all, is that you get to eat it right out of the pan. Needless to say that one of us (not Trisha) felt right at home, picked up that pan and devoured her E-N-T-I-R-E meal.

Gaby: Hey! No judging. I had just worked up a sweat and this growing girl needs her nutrients.

Trisha: We get it. But did you really need all those nutrients from my mountain of chilaquiles and the communal Chicken and Waffle?

Gaby: Key word “communal”. I rest my case.

We’re itching to go back on Taco Tuesday to pair up some of their beef and queso fresco tacos with one of their Cherry Limeade frozen drink or one of their Moonshine Flights. SIDE NOTE: 50% off from all of their “Mashology” drinks when the train passes (1 per guest, must be over 21 years old). That’s quite a deal! Looks like we might be getting thirsty real quick!
