CAMERON - Cameron County has received confirmation of two additional COVID-19 related deaths of Cameron County residents. The residents were a 55-year-old male and an 89-year-old female from the Veranda Nursing Home in Harlingen.

Both individuals passed away at the Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen. Both cases were previously reported cases. This raises the number of COVID-19 related deaths to nine (9) in Cameron County.

“Having to report the loss of lives to COVID-19 is very difficult,” stated Cameron County Judge Eddie Trevino, Jr. “Unfortunately, this virus is taking years away from a person’s life and robbing time they could have spent with family and loved ones.”
