Students in McAllen ISD’s International Baccalaureate Programme at Lamar Academy will be reading original poems at a Night of Poetry during Art Walk on Friday, May 7.
It will be held outdoors behind the Art House (1111 N. 10th St.) from 7-8:30 p.m. Pictured are members of the staff of the literary magazine Indelible Ink.
Now in its third year of publication, the annual magazine will be filled with artwork submitted by more than 60 students. “It’s one way to connect with the community and to showcase their creativity,” Sponsor Nellie Kowalski explained. The magazine will be unveiled at the Art Walk. The public is invited to come out and hear these young poets. Seated from left to right are Doris Valdes, Jacqueline Ecle and Lauren Galvan.
