The Dustin M. Sekula Memorial Library will begin a new bi-lingual children’s series, Para Los Niños (PLN), March 3. The eight-week course will help children ages 2 to 5 become fluent in both English and Spanish. The PLN program will be open to the entire community and is absolutely free of charge.

The program will incorporate a storytime and an activity or craft. Each story will be both fun and educational, integrating factual information with storytelling. The activity/craft that follows will reinforce what was read during storytime, not only educating the mind but also stimulating creativity.

The Para Los Niños (PLN) program will meet every Wednesday at 10 a.m. beginning March 3. The program will culminate on May 1, with a Dia de los Niños / Dia de los Libros Celebration.

With this program the Dustin Michael Sekula Memorial Library hopes to keep true to our motto “Empowering Our Community” by empowering our youngest patrons to be fluent in English and also in the second leading language in our nation, Spanish.
