The Rio Grande Valley Music Festival will be held Feb. 18 to 22, at the RGV Livestock Showground’s in Mercedes. This unique five day music festival features musicians from all over the country performing Country, Bluegrass, Folk, Western and Progressive music as well as Mariachi and Folkloric performances.
Performing at the festival are Cactus Willie, Boxcar Bob and the Drifter, Francis Hahn, Walter Plant, Valley Tumbleweeds, Dale Howard and many more.
Arts and crafts will also be on display at this event. There will be two large stages and several large tents. Proceeds from this show go to supporting music education for local students. Gates open at 8 a.m. with performances starting at 9 a.m. Daily admission is $5 per person, Children 12 and under free. Individuals are encouraged to bring their own instruments and lawn chair.
